Universe

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
1. All matter and energy, including the earth, the galaxies, and the contents of intergalactic space, regarded as a whole.

Conceptual Foundation

To ask questions about the meaning of Life and the Universe, we need to start somewhere. We need to state the conceptual foundation that we take to be true with out question. These foundation concepts are called Postulates.

At this point I make the qualitative assertions:

Initial Postulate 1. The Universe exists!
Initial Postulate 2. We exist as part of the Universe!
Initial Postulate 3. We have Awareness of and can communicate about the Universe and ourselves as part of it!

*Note: In the Universe we live and move and have our being! We are part of the Universe physically and behaviorally.
