1-8-07 * Historical Killing By Isreal
Introduction
It is 2006 09 29. I quote from earlier writing, "It is Friday December 13,
2003 and I have been in Stavropol, Russia since October 15 working on this web
site. Last week terrorist blew up a commuter train about 10 miles from here. It
was mainly students going to Pyatigorsk that were killed and injured. At this
time 47 have died so far. September 3 the same train was blown up murdering 7.
Islamists following the Orthodox teaching of Islamic texts taught in every
mainstream Islamic school did this."
Last year visiting at one of my wife's old neighbor (Luba), we were talking
about the evil of killing in the Koran. Luba said it was the same in the bible.
I was taken aback because I had read some text that seemed to support that.
I went and searched the verses where the Israelites killed communities. I found
them and why.
Killing
De 12:29 When the Lord thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee,
whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in
their land;
De 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after
that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their
gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do
likewise.
De 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to
the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for
even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
De 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add
thereto, nor diminish from it.
De 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
De 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a
necromancer.
De 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and
because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before
thee.
Le 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass
through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy
God: I am the Lord.
Le 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Le 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith:
neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is
confusion.
Le 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the
nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
Le 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon
it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
2Ki 16:2 Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen
years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord
his God, like David his father.
2Ki 16:3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the
abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of
Israel.
2Ki 16:4 And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the
hills, and under every green tree.
Eze 16:20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast
borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this
of thy whoredoms a small matter,
Eze 16:21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
Samuel Ordered Saul To Kill Amalek
1Sa 15:1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king
over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the
words of the Lord.
1Sa 15:2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to
Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and
spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep,
camel and ass.
Why?
De 25:17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth
out of Egypt;
De 25:18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all
that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not
God.
De 25:19 Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from
all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee
for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of
Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
Ex 17:8 Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
Ex 17:9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with
Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine
hand.
Ex 17:10 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and
Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
Ex 17:11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel
prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
Ex 17:12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under
him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the
one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the
going down of the sun.
Ex 17:13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the
sword.
Ex 17:14 And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and
rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of
Amalek from under heaven.
Ex 17:15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:
Ex 17:16 For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war
with Amalek from generation to generation.
